Replacement

Replacement pumps & cross-reference

An existing pump is a specification. We read it, then look for the routes that satisfy it.

Possible outcomes

  • 01Original
  • 02Compatible
  • 03Alternative

Replacement solutions

Replace the pump.Not the process.

A replacement only makes sense if it fits the duty, the fluid and the installation. We work from the operating data first, then discuss sourcing.

Selection pipeline

  1. 01

    Existing pump

Nameplate, model, drawing or part number.

  2. 02

    Application review

Duty point, fluid and installation constraints.

  3. 03

    Cross-reference

    Comparable pumps and interchangeable components.

  4. 04

    VELLKEN solution

    Original, compatible or alternative proposal.

What we review

Every cross-reference is checked against the parameters that actually decide whether a pump can be exchanged.

  • 01Flow
  • 02Head
  • 03Differential pressure
  • 04Medium
  • 05Viscosity
  • 06Temperature
  • 07Materials
  • 08Sealing
  • 09Connection dimensions
  • 10Rotation
  • 11Speed
  • 12Motor
  • 13Installation envelope

Possible outcomes

01

Original

The original pump or original component, sourced through available channels.

02

Compatible

A component built to fit and function in the existing installation.

03

Alternative

A different pump selected to cover the same duty point and interfaces.

Installation constraints matter as much as performance

A pump that matches the curve but not the baseplate is not a replacement. The mechanical interface is reviewed alongside the hydraulics.

Final pump selection must be technically confirmed before an order is released.

  • 01Flange sizes, ratings and orientation
  • 02Shaft height, footprint and baseplate holes
  • 03Coupling and motor arrangement
  • 04Direction of rotation
  • 05Available envelope for maintenance access

Cross-reference

Running an ALLWEILER pump?

You may have more than one sourcing option.

Cross-reference scope

We can discuss replacement paths for screw, centrifugal and progressing cavity pumps from manufacturers such as:

  • ALLWEILER
  • IMO
  • Bornemann
  • KRAL
  • Leistritz
  • NETZSCH
  • SEEPEX
  • KSB
  • Grundfos
  • Sulzer

Manufacturer names are used for identification and cross-reference purposes only. VELLKEN is an independent supplier.

  1. 01

    Original sourcing

The original pump or part, quoted through available supply channels.

  2. 02

    Compatible components

Wear parts and internals manufactured to fit the existing pump.

  3. 03

    Alternative pump selection

A technically equivalent pump selected around your duty point.

Identification

Have an old pump?Start with the nameplate.

Send us the manufacturer, model or simply a photo of the pump nameplate. We can help identify a suitable replacement, compatible part or alternative pump.

Useful details

  • Manufacturer and model designation
  • Serial number or production number
  • Rated flow, head or differential pressure
  • Fluid, temperature and viscosity
  • Motor rating, speed and voltage

Commercial logic

Why consider an alternative?

Because the sourcing decision is rarely only about the pump itself.

  • 01

    Acquisition cost

Budget reality for repeat units, spare pumps and secondary duties.

  • 02

    Lead time

Delivery windows that fit a shutdown, not the other way around.

  • 03

    Spare part availability

How easily wear parts can be obtained over the coming years.

  • 04

    Serviceability

Whether the unit can be maintained with your own service capability.

  • 05

    Application compatibility

Fluid, temperature, materials and sealing must still match the duty.

  • 06

    Lifecycle considerations

Expected running hours, criticality and total cost over service life.

The cheapest pump is not automatically the best choice. A unit that fails early, runs outside its efficient range or cannot be serviced locally becomes expensive.

A premium brand is not automatically the right answer either. High price does not prove that a specific manufacturer is required for a specific duty point.

We don't start with the brand. We start with the duty point.

Flow, head, fluid and installation define the pump. The nameplate comes afterwards.

Process

How it works

Four steps from an existing pump to a commercial offer.

  1. 01

    Send

Pump model, nameplate, drawing or operating data.

  2. 02

    Review

We review the application and compatibility requirements.

  3. 03

    Select

    Original, compatible or alternative solution.

  4. 04

    Quote

    Commercial offer and delivery option.

Need a replacement pump?

Send us the model.

Send us the nameplate.

Or simply tell us what the pump needs to do.
